Will, the kids and I are back from a short, much needed, much appreciated vacation.
We got out of dodge and celebrated Will’s birthday in the way he wanted (and I sho nuff needed) – focused family time, active rest, and rejuvenation.

It was great.

I thoroughly enjoyed my family, expanded my book distribution, got in daily workouts, studied, prayed, stilled myself, listened and prepared for an upcoming keynote message.

God is good.

I thank Him for my man, our children, and this time of refreshing.

In her book Breathe, Priscilla Shirer reminds us of the God-given gift of rest. She writes:

One of the greatest challenges amount women in our culture is taking time to cease from all the activities and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God’s greatest gifts.

Can you relate?

Rest.

Exodus 20:9-10

Psalm 127:2

Psalm 4:8

Psalm 23:1-3

Mark 6:30-32

I’m learning and living boundaries. Margin. Rest.

It is glorious.

Do you obey God’s direction/protection and rest regularly? If so, what is your favorite way to relax and recharge?

If not, what gets in the way? Pray and make the needed change.
