I run because it keeps me healthy and sane, I love the way it makes me feel, and I cherish that time alone with God. Lately, I’ve been led to extend the experience beyond me to make a difference for others. So I try to add to each race action to support causes that help, heal and change people. As much as I dislike fundraising, (I’m really not comfortable asking people for money), I won’t allow my personal discomfort to block others from making a difference for a worthy cause.

This October, I will run my 6th half marathon to support the wonderful work done by the Cancer Program at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.

They treat more Louisiana kids with cancer than all other facilities combined. And Children’s Hospital has a policy of never turning away a child who needs the care they offer, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. The City of New Orleans has come a long way, but there is still much work be done.

Please join me in helping this landmark New Orleans institution and their important work with a donation. No amount is too small.

Thank you in advance for being such a blessing.
