Yesterday I waved the white flag and cried uncle re my eating.   All the holiday merriment threw me off.  In just a few weeks, my appetite and taste for sweets grew – big time.   Since the first of the year, I’ve been trying to get the eating back in gear but my cravings were LOUD and I continued to eat things that were not so good for me.  As a result, I felt sluggish and…backed up (you get my drift).  My body was calling for a change but my mind wasn’t cooperating.   So I prayed, refocused and kicked the change off with a quick, 1 day Shakeology reboot. One step/one day at a time… For breakfast, I had a banana greenberry shake, for lunch, I had a chocolate peanut butter shake.  It gave me a bit of sweet, balanced nutrition, filled me up and got things moving (same drift here). I intended to have a 3rd shake for dinner but things were moving so well, I didn’t want to go overboard.  Instead,  I had some green beans, a few almonds, and a honeycrisp apple with a bit of peanut butter.  I also drank a lot of water during the day.
Well, this morning,  I woke up early, (first time in 3 weeks), full of energy and  tripping at how this one day got my appetite back under control.  No cravings and my meal selections have been sensible. Why didn’t I do this on Jan 1?!   I think sometimes we make challenges seem insurmountable, when drawing a line in the sand and taking a single step will get us past it.  (The story of young David against Goliath comes to mind).   I’m feeling wonderful and giving God thanks for the turnaround.   BTW, if you are not familiar with  Shakelogy – this stuff is the business!  Here are the simple ‘recipes’ for my turnaround day shakes.

Banana Greenberry Shake

In a blender, add a frozen ripe banana, 1/2 scoop Greenberry Shakeology® and ~1 cup vanilla soy milk (I like Silk brand).  Blend till smooth and creamy adding additional soy milk to get the consistency you like. Pour in your cup and grate a bit of nutmeg on top.  The freshly grated nutmeg MAKES this shake.  It tastes like a luscious milkshake… amazing.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake

In a blender, add 1 cup crushed ice, ½ packet Chocolate Shakeology®, 1 tablespoon peanut butter and ~1 cup vanilla soy milk (I like Silk brand).  Blend till smooth and creamy adding additional soy milk to get the consistency you like.
