Yesterday before worship, I worked with new converts, teaching foundation class and assisting with baptism. After worship, I visited a few home-bound senior members, assisting a deacon with the administration of the Lord’s Supper. It is such a blessing to share with and serve those at various points of this Christian journey – from the brand new to those who have been walking with the Lord a good while. God is amazing.
At the end of one of the visits, someone commented on the pretty day and our dear sister in Christ shared that the only time she is able to leave the walls of her home is to go the doctor or the hospital. She told us to enjoy the beauty of the day. Fully experience it, get the most from it because you never know when things will change and you won’t be able to do so. This was shared with no signs of sadness or regret. It was a heartfelt encouragement, born from the truth of God’s Word and her experience. Take nothing for granted and make the most of every experience. Put “hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” Yes, my sister I will.
Hope you will too.
