The human body is not designed to sit hours upon hours per day – yet our jobs, schools, modes of entertainment etc. promote large scale inactivity. Medical researchers declare “Sitting is the New Smoking” as studies indicate a sedentary lifestyle not only causes weight gain and joint damage, but diabetes, heart disease and even cancer. Research also indicates that “People of all ages can improve the quality of their lives and reduce the risks of developing coronary heart disease, hypertension, some cancers and type 2 diabetes with ongoing participation in moderate physical activity and exercise.” Daily exercise will also enhance one’s mental well-being, reduce stress, improve body composition and promote healthy musculoskeletal function throughout life. Movement performed consistently, is medicine that can help much of what ails people today.

The Consistency Club is poised to help. Beyond a single race or virtual event, the Consistency Club is a national community that promotes, supports and rewards consistent activity. We’re waging war on inactivity by providing camaraderie, accountability and GREAT BLING to members who get going and DON’T QUIT – moving 100 or more miles per month.  Participation also helps others as a portion of proceeds will be donated to national organizations supporting prevention, education, advocacy and research for diabetes, cancer and heart disease.
Connect with the Consistency Club at their Facebook page. For more information or to join the club, go to www.consistencyclub.com   Registration is open now.
