Day 12
A quick 33-hour trip to South Bend, Indiana via Chicago was a needed departure from my new (temporary post flood) normal. A few happy highlights:
First time eating at Flat Top Grill. That big bountiful bowl of spicy sweet veggies brought tears to my eyes.
Firs time vising the beautiful campuses of St Mary and Notre Dame.
My first author television interview.
The folks at The Harvest Show do good work for God’s kingdom. Click here to watch the interview.
An impromptu visit with my sister, soror, friend Regina. We haven’t seen each other in a quarter century but it seemed like yesterday.
My first successful self-application of false eyelashes. They were straight and didn’t fall off. (Did you peep those lashes!)
Last and most important: birthday lunch with my 86-year-old mother. It included precious, precious time talking, cracking, shelling and watching her enjoy king crab legs, and about 147 kisses and hugs. This too short visit with her is one I doubt I’ll ever forget.
For all of this I give God praise.
