Christmas 2016 is almost here.

We are thankful and blessed and there is no decking of halls going on at our abode.

This picture is 6 years old – but it I’m sure some folks can relate.

For many people and a variety of reasons, this time of year when the world pauses to celebrate can be difficult. Overwhelm. Bereavement. Sickness. Material loss. Loneliness. Financial burden. Emotional pain… some folks are going through.

This Christmas, our celebration is different.

Traditional trappings of the season have been set aside.

What really matters is really important.

This holiday is more heartfelt, and along with the joy of the Lord and thankfulness for all His gifts is awareness and love of those who are troubled. For such souls, we send this Christmas sentiment.

A few words of this encouragement from the mouths of children.

“It’s not what you get, it’s what you give. We’ve got the spirit clear and loud.

Remembering the birth of Christ, that’s what Christmas is all about.”

When this truth and perspective is hidden by hurt, gifts of love, prayer, care, and support are needed.

This Christmas – remember those who are going through.

See them.

Pray for them.

Reach out to them.

Let words and actions point to the reason for the season.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NIV

Merry Christmas from the Johnsons.

Song “Merry Christmas From the Louds”, Sung by Etana Johnson (age 7), Lyrics adapted by Jabari Johnson (age 12).
