Today is National Donut Day.
The NBA finals kicked off this week…
But hold your mule – what’s even more exciting…
June is National Fruit and Vegetables Month!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services’ Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010 recommends that Americans make half their plate fruits and vegetables for meals and snacks, as demonstrated by the MyPlate nutrition guide.
In the spirit of the NBA finals. Think of your plate as the basketball court and the foods you choose for meals and snacks are the players (hang with me here…).
Are fruits and vegetables the MVP, a supporting player in the game, or benchwarmers – rarely if ever in the game?
Given the increase of chronic diseases among all age groups, eating a diet rich in a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is more important than ever.
Need to put more fruit and vegetables in rotation? Do it! Your body will thank you.
