March 4 - Leadership Training
Congregational Training
The final class of a 3-session, 9-hour training series for the leadership at New Hope Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA.
Instructed by Rev Sam Lofton, Nettye conducted exploratory and activity sessions on servant leadership, affirming those you lead, engagement for recruitment and retention, and evaluation tips.

In this intensive training, Nettye explores how to set meaningful and achievable goals.
Participants will leave with a behavior change strategy that can help move from where you are to where God wants you to be. (While the trained application is physical fitness, this goal strategy can be applied to any area of life.)
The training is one hour with an optional 45-minute period for questions and hot seat coaching through the process.

Part of the Collaborative Leadership Speakers Series for Job’s Daughters International, Nettye will lead a webinar: Promoting our ‘Why’
- The ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely has never been more important—or more difficult. It’s rare that we can plan or execute projects alone—or even as part of a single team. We have to bring in other allies. Participants will learn tips for identifying and engaging with stakeholders who have an interest in your projects or might be affected by their outcome.
March 25 - Redz River Run Health Fair
March 25 – REDZ RIVER RUN 5K/10K Health Fair
Health Fare is Free and Open to the Community
8 am – noon CST
REDZ RIVER RUN is a fun, informative community health event sponsored Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The race will benefit several local charities and the March of Dimes. Held on the beautiful Southern University campus, the day includes a fun and informative community health fair.
Nettye will have a table sharing livable and sustainable healthy eating and exercise education, tools, and resources.

March 29 - Self-Care for the Health Advocate
March 29-31 the 33rd Annual Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference will be held in Colorado Springs, CO.
Nettye will present 3 sessions on Self-Care for the Health Advocate
Session description:
Health advocacy is critical and challenging work. Health professionals engaged in caring for others often experience difficulties caring for themselves.
This session is a safe space to explore our personal wellness. Physical exercises that release stress and restore balance will be interspersed among the exploration activities. Participants will honestly assess their current state of wellness, examine their alignment of health priorities and daily activities, identify an effective and repeatable personal health habit, brainstorm self-care barriers and boundaries to learn and embrace humility and engage needed help to promote and protect their wellness.
