Today is my birthday, and I thank God to see 57 peaceful, hopeful, and well in all areas of life.
2025 has challenged and stretched me. God held me, and I am grateful.
This year, the current administration and climate brought significant shifts to health equity and community wellness work. Federal priorities and funding changed, and estimates suggest that between January and April 2025 alone, around 300,000 to 320,000 Black women became unemployed. I am self-employed, yet much of the work I do supports initiatives and programs of large umbrella organizations impacted by those changes. (*&%#! rolls downhill…)
During this period of scarcity, God gave me clarity and the courage to shift and lead in a different way.
For decades, I have taught at conferences, conventions, community programs, health fairs, workshops, and later webinars.
Too often, the focus of these experiences was sharing information, and the measured metric was attendance and engagement.
Not learning.
Not application.
Not behavioral follow-through.
Not transformation or sustainable change.
God has made it clear that people need more than an information dump, handout, or enjoyable moment.
Transformation requires meaningful grounding.
Curated and paced teaching that connects to a person’s life.
Practical steps, support, and accountability to apply and live what has been learned.
I base and build training experiences with these principles, and too often had to shortcut that focus to fit the formats and limits of the settings I served in.
Too often, I left with participants on my heart and mind, hearing their expressed desire to explore more.
My TempleCare Academy provides the structure and continuity for scaled reach and impact.
Introducing TempleCare Academy
TempleCare Academy is an education and coaching platform grounded in faith, behavior science, and practical application.
It is primarily online, with select courses that include in-person training and experiences.
Offerings include:
- Short courses that teach and support small, meaningful shifts
- Multi-week programs that provide deeper learning with group and individual interaction
- Group coaching and mastermind experiences for collective growth
- One-on-one coaching for personalized support and applied behavior change
This is the work I am called and equipped to do, and prayerfully this will be a platform to do it well.
The Academy opens in January, and for my 57th birthday, I am offering a presale on a selection of courses and programs.
Here is a brief look at the presale offerings:
- Pew2Pavement – Eight-week faith and fitness training that helps participants embrace walking or running as worship and build consistent movement. Includes personalized training plans and group support to help participants progress safely.
- Veganish Eating – A practical and flexible, plant-forward approach to eating real food the way God made it, without extremes. Includes a one-hour coaching session to help personalize Veganish principles for your lifestyle and wellness needs.
- Sweet Freedom Sugar Fast – A six-week sugar fast with teaching and guided group sessions to break cravings and strengthen spiritual and physical discipline. Includes structured support to help participants stay focused and consistent throughout the fast.
- How to Stress Less – A stress management intensive exploring spiritual, biological, and behavioral principles to help identify and manage stress. Includes a one-hour post-program coaching session for assessment, guidance, and next steps.
- Goals Masterclass – A self-study course that teaches a behavior-based strategy for setting meaningful and achievable goals. Includes two 30-minute coaching sessions: one to set your goals and one for follow-up and continued growth.
Program details and presale information will be shared in an upcoming blog post. If you want updates delivered to your inbox, you can join my email list here.
If none of these offerings fit your needs but you feel led to bless someone else, you will also have the option to purchase a scholarship enrollment.
