October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, National Domestic Violence Month and Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. These and many other health conditions impact people of color at higher rates and/or cause more deaths and suffering, compared to other groups. This can and must change.
I’m grateful to participate in two events that raise awareness about health disparities – how differences in people contribute to different health statuses, and steps we can take to improve health outcomes.
This week’s #WellnessWednesday Facebook Live shares more.
The Addressing Minority Health Disparities” workshop is one the most impactful and well received health education sessions I offer, and my Pastor and home church are excited to host the National Institutes of Health All of Us Journey Exhibit. The information shared in these events can truly save and improve lives.
If you are in the Gtr Baton Rouge area, we’d love to see you Wednesday, October 17th. If you are out of the area of can’t make it, please share the events/topics as health improvement (for individuals and communities) starts with knowledge. I appreciate and thank you for help spreading the word.
Also check out, share, and apply (as applicable) the information, tools and resources made available by related organizations and programs. These folks are doing great work to help many.
